JEM-X InteGRAL
INTEGRAL (INTErnational Gamma-Ray Astrophysics Laboratory) is an ESA mission dedicated to the fine spectroscopy and imaging of gamma-ray emissions from celestial sources. INTEGRAL was successfully launched by a Proton rocket on 17 October 2002 and it is providing new insight into the most violent and exotic objects of the Universe, such as black holes, neutron stars, active galactic nuclei and supernovae. INTEGRAL is also helping us to understand processes such as the formation of new chemical elements and mysterious gamma-ray bursts, the most energetic phenomena in the Universe.

The Joint European X-Ray Monitor (JEM-X) is one of the four INTEGRAL’s Instruments. It plays a crucial role in the detection and identification of the gamma-ray sources. CAEN Aerospace, as subcontractor of IAS (Istituto Astrofisica Spaziale) Frascati - Italy - designed and implemented the Engineering Model, Qualification Model and Flight Models of the 6 kV power supply for the JEM-X Microstrip Gas Chamber Detectors.
